The statement knit

Why blend in when you can stand out in this mood-boosting orange jumper. Pantone stated that this ‘Fiesta’ shade radiates energy, passion and excitement’, which is just the ticket for embracing the darling buds of spring. Style it with your best jeans for an easy weekend look or throw it on over a midi dress when you want to look like you’ve made an effort (without actually making one).

The polka-dot top

Animal print isn’t the only pattern making its mark this season – the catwalks were also going dotty for polka dots. Avoid the obvious black and white and opt instead for this brown version (above) in a chic wrap design that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. Denim, tailoring, clashed with a floral midi skirt for the fashionably daring – anything goes

The paisley-print blouse

A modern hippy vibe is definitely up there as one of SS19’s hottest looks, which means it’s never been more appropriate to waft your way into a new season. Less peasant skirts and chunky belts, more paisley prints and floaty fabrics that can just as easily be styled for the office as they can a high-summer retreat in Ibiza. It’s boho, but not as you know it.

The 9am-9pm dress

Every wardrobe should have at least one dress that ticks the box for any diary event. That could be an important work meeting where you need to look both chic and empowered, an impromptu date night – be it your first or fiftieth – or a go-to holiday outfit that comes with you to every destination. This graphic-print style gets our vote.

The cool jumpsuit

Another wardrobe wonder, the jumpsuit continues to steal top marks for guaranteed effortless style. We love this denim version, which somehow strikes the perfect balance of smart and casual thanks to its tailored silhouette and striped detail. The duster coat

As timeless as the trench, but a little more relaxed in shape – this cornflower blue duster coat is a must for transitioning into the new season in style. Wear it now with ankle boots and a longline blazer for a chic day-to-night look, swapping for sandals and a smile once the temperature really picks up.

Utilitarian silhouettes are big news for spring, and khaki unsurprisingly remains a permanent fixture for mastering the trend. Snap up this sleek midi but instead of pairing it with an obvious white shirt, opt instead for this ombre knit – it still looks smart but gives your look a stylish edge.
