What's your Christmas jumper style?

If there’s one piece of clothing that has the capability to divide a room even more than the whispering of political opinion, it’s the Christmas jumper. Love it or hate it, there’s no avoiding it – particularly if you work in an office that enjoys partaking in a bit of old fashioned organised fun like, say, Christmas jumper day.

Our view? Embrace it. Christmas only comes but once a year and so when it does after all, so why not make the most of it? Before you dive in though, it's time to work one thing out: at which end of the Christmas jumper scale do you sit?

If you're ready to go all-out...

If Christmas is the one moment that you put more preparation, more effort and more pride into than any other time of year, then Christmas jumpers were made for you. A quiet, muted pattern? Forget it. You’re here for the bells and the whistles, for the bright lights and the bold, out-there colours. Holding back isn't in your nature so go all out – and prepare to let your jumper command the attention of the room.

If subtlety is your strong point...

It may be that you're ready and willing to get in amongst the fun, but that even the thought of anything referenced above brings you out in hives. For you, it's best to err of the side of caution and stick to something that's going to slot perfectly into your day-to-day wardrobe. Go for subtle, Scandi-inspired patterns and if you're feeling bold, chuck in a reindeer print or any other appropriate reference to the festive season.

Let’s not beat around the bush: a Christmas jumper is an epic conversation starter. But, if you’re not sure where to even begin, the prospect can be daunting. If you know you want in on the action but you’re unsure of where to start, start with some subtle hints. The perfect way? Get on everyone’s good side with a slogan or motif jumper that’s appropriate enough to wear to work, but that’ll also get the right kind of attention in the pub, too.
